5th - 6th June 2014 - Meeting in Croatia

Representatives from Romania, Italy, Netherlands, Scotland, Canary Islands and Germany visited town of Osijek in Croatia in regards to W2L2W meeting schedule. First day of the seminar took place in Croatian Employment Service in Osijek where the head of CES Osijek gave a warm welcome to everyone, presented the institution and their framework of work. Participants were familiarized with youth unemployment problems in Croatia through a brief presentation given by Faculty of Law students and their film “Blocked Generation”. The first day CISOK office was also presented and we visited high school Dalj where we were given an insight in their student’s cooperation “Dayla” through which students are being taught to work and responsibilities through 9 different sections in their green houses and gardens. This unique cooperative serves as a model and gives the students an insight to real business world, theoretical knowledge and the most important - practical knowledge and preparation for tackling the possible difficulties in work.

Second day took place in BIOS (entrepreneurs incubator) premises. First part of the meeting was reserved for partnership meeting. In the second part, representatives had an opportunity to see how the Croatian education system works after which followed the presentation of Centre for entrepreneurship. CfE presented one of their many projects. Near the end of the meeting, BIOS representative also presented BIOS – entrepreneurs incubator which provides premises and different types of services for small and medium businesses. BIOS also presented “Osijek Software city”, a project dedicated to development of IT industry in Osijek.
