The 4th meeting from 28-29.01.2013 of the Leonardo Partnership in Germany was a big success! Many different and very committed people – all involved in the integration to work process of young unemployed people - participated in the interesting program at the Diakonie Michaelshoven. Ubus from Berlin was the co-host of this conference together with the Berufsförderungswerk Köln. Highlights of the event were for sure the visit of the training center of the Chamber of Crafts Cologne and the following tour through its premises (http://www.hwk-koeln.de/32,445,405.html). The system of the Dual Vocational Education in Germany was explained into detail and the cooperation between the training companies and the vocational schools were explained. How the Diakonie Michaelshoven and especially the Berufsförderungswer Köln gGmbH achievs to know exactly the needs of the local and regional labour market was explained by the Head of the Integration to Work department, Mr. Tjarks. Employees of the Jobcenter Cologne presented their projects which they offer to young unemployed people. Many of them are without any vocational orientation and are facing also health issues. The projects Ferry4You (http://www.diakonie-michaelshoven.de/angebote/arbeit-und-rehabilitation/integration-in-arbeit/junge-menschen/) and TEP – „Teilzeitberufsausbildung – Einstieg begleiten – Perspektiven öffnen“ (TEP) (dual vocational education in part- time) were another focus of the program.
